IronBright open to Financial Planning Firms

IronBright Investment Management Limited was launched on 2 May 2017 to provide the clients of Bristol-based financial planning firm Brunel Capital Partners with low cost (fees 0.25% +VAT per annum), globally diversified investment portfolios tailored to their precise, personal risk profiles and financial planning objectives.

Now Brunel is making IronBright available to other financial planning firms.

Brunel believed in their investment philosophy so much they invested a considerable sum to break away from their incumbent DFM to bring IronBright to life.

IronBright has 21 model portfolios using index funds and holding traditional asset classes such as equities, bonds, property, fixed interest and cash. IronBright purposefully excludes complex investment instruments such as hedge funds, complex derivatives and structured products as they fail their strict ‘three mantra test’.

IronBright portfolios are easily mapped to the market leading risk profiling tools and are spread over three categories: nine pure passive and nine core-satellite portfolios sharing the same asset allocation; and three income portfolios.

Rebalancing takes place twice annually in May and November. IronBright is currently available on Ascentric, Novia, 7IM and Transact but can easily be made available on other platforms.

Damien Rylett, Financial Planner and CEO of IronBright says:

“For years, our financial planning clients’ money was invested with DFM’s that ran money according to their own philosophy, not ours. This meant that it was not tailored to our beliefs nor was it aligned with clients’ individual needs. In our eyes, this was ludicrous and our clients deserved better. We believed in our philosophy so much, we decided to build it ourselves.

“The philosophy is not rocket science it is evidence based. It doesn’t need to be complicated.

“It is based on a clear philosophy of simplicity, transparency and liquidity so the portfolios avoid anything that fails these three tests.

“We are able to match the clients goals precisely with the portfolio and we have complete control over where the money gets invested to ensure the clients do not get any surprises. We start from a totally Independent position but have excluded certain types on investments on the basis that they would not fit with the majority of our clients. Not all clients are invested in the portfolios. They are used on a case by case basis.”
