Asset allocation drives the return so we offer a range of strategically asset allocated portfolios. Each portfolio has a passive option and a core/satellite option which contains a core of low-cost index funds with some active funds added. Active funds may be used to provide exposure to less efficient markets of sectors for example. You choose which version to use.
No. Our portfolios are strategic an our approach is to be patient and disciplined. There is no statistical evidence for the persistence of performance and it is impossible to consistently time the market successfully.
Portfolios are rebalanced to their target asset allocation twice a year at the start of May and November.
No. The adviser has the relationship with the client and we would expect the tax aspects of financial planning and investment management to be the adviser’s responsibility.
All portfolios start with a 2% allocation to cash following a rebalance. This is to ensure fees can be taken without the need to always disrupt the portfolio.
Ironbright do not invest directly in property but in funds which in turn invest in property. These have higher levels of liquidity ensuring client’s portfolios remain liquid.
We offer 3 portfolios to all clients – IronBright Sustainable 30; IronBright Sustainable 50 and IronBright Sustainable 70, all of which follow the same investment principles and practises applied to all the IronBright portfolios; however, the portfolios employ a number of fund houses to invest our sustainable mandates with IronBright working hard to screen out sectors they deem unsustainable or damaging to the global community, such as armaments, animal testing and tobacco. Fees are collected directly from the portfolio and payment is facilitated monthly through the selected investment platform.

Yes, this is exactly what we have in mind. Our intention is that advisers can promote their own brand, while IronBright remains in the background, with only brief reference to the company name as required by regulation. For example, a firm may wish to refer to a model portfolio as CompanyNameX.
